Branding
My aim was to create a guide where I can categorize found sounds from random everyday objects and visualize them in a unique, real time manner. I visualized this project to be somewhat of an interactive installation within a gallery, so created a general brand style to help guide the project in a focused color, type and asthetic direction.

Media and Print
In addition to a physical installation, I am currently drafting a handbook that informs users of all the research I’ve gathered.

The handbook features NFC tags and QR codes on the sides, which offer readers a chance to view and listen to the sounds they read about. This
adds another layer of dimension when consuming content realted to sound, bringing the installation home to you.
TouchDesigner
All the abstract “chladni plate” like images were created using a custom piece in TouchDesigner. Using various nodes I essentially twisted a three dimensional shape into something abstract. Then using software like Ableton Live, I was able to manipulate the sound, singling out sound componenets like its frequency, amplitude and bass.

Specular is an experimentive sound and visual design peice. Born out of my reccent facination with random sounds, I wanted to find a way to visualize these exclusivley auditory experiences. I gave myself a prompt to create an installation type artwork using TouchDesigner and creating an experience that shares my love for finding, recording, manipulating and visualizing everyday sounds.
