The SETI Institute (Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence) is a scientific research organization dedicated to exploring, understanding, and explaining the origin and nature of life in the universe. Founded in 1984, it conducts research in fields such as astronomy, planetary science, astrobiology, and the search for extraterrestrial technologies (technosignatures) — especially through radio signal detection from deep space. The institute also engages in public outreach and education to promote scientific literacy and curiosity about life beyond Earth.
